1. Ahh, welcome Spring, everyone’s favourite time of year. The weather is warmer, the gardens are colourful, cows are calving, bees are pollinating, and people seem to be coming out of winter hibernation. Everyone has a bit of a spring in their step, no pun intended, and we are looking to pack away those extra blankets and get ready for Summer.

The same is true for the property market! Although we have seen a very steady few months, there has been a flurry of interest this week. And let’s face it, if you are looking to sell your place the garden is most likely looking it’s best in Spring. We have had a couple of new properties list onto the market, and there has been some good interest in a few of our current properties.

As we have talked about previously, there are many upsides to living in the country. A recent article written about a town in Victoria describes “6 Reasons to commute from the bush” and they are:

    1. Value
    2. Big Block Benefits
    3. The country is a great place to raise kids
    4. Community feel
    5. Best of both worlds
    6. Travel time can be free time

There are quite a few more that we could add to this list, but it’s really interesting how there is so much press about it lately. The talk about Supertowns, the government giving cash incentives to move to regional areas, and the ever growing need to just escape the chaos of living in a metropiltan city for an easier and quieter life. For those of us who have already made the move, we will most likely never look back. Yes, our children may leave after finishing school to explore the rest of the world, but hopefully every time they are back they will relish the uniqueness of growing up in a rural area, and it’s beauty may even lure them back one day.

So if you can feel the call of rural life, give our sales team a call to find out exactly how much property you can get for your dollar. And hopefully you too will see the value that a country life can buy. Who knows, you may even find yourself seriously contemplating that move and one day soon call the Bellingen Shire home too!

    Regards, the team at openhomeonline.
